Admission
While attending the school is free, children must apply to be admitted to the Deborah Brown Community School. Any child of appropriate age may apply, and there is no test of ability or achievement required for admission.
After the applicant’s information is reviewed, the child and his or her parents, guardians or other significant adult(s) may be required to participate in interviews with school staff members.
If there are more applicants than space available, a lottery will be held. Any students not selected in the lottery are placed on a waiting list, and may be enrolled as space becomes available. The school serves a maximum of 308 students.
